Audrey Martin has some delightful goings on her in her “Living Room”. Audrey is right there on “Wild Is the Wind” (Tiomkin/Washington) out-doing even Mathis and Simone. Her take moves it along with a most complex gentle beat. Mary Fettig gives forth with a powerful superb tenor solo. “Lazy Afternoon” (LaTouche/Moross) from Broadway’s 1964 “Golden Apple” is truly mellow as Audrey carefully enunciates every word. She certainly captures the essence of this moody ballad. Jeff Buenz’s guitar provides just the right support. “The Touch of Your Lips” (Noble) is given a gently upbeat arrangement. Audrey fittingly delivers it as if Ray Noble wrote it just for her. “I Like You You’re Nice” (Dearie/Albert) is just perfect. It’s as if she’s explaining the lyrics just to you. “April In Paris” (Duke/Harburg) is a true wonder. Audrey can certainly charm her way to her listeners. One would very much love to be invited to a visit in her Living Room.
